Papathanasiou Beach is a beach the center of the city which is mostly preferred by the locals for their daily baths. This is one of the cleanest beaches that can meet someone in the center of the city. Located right by the lighthouse of Chalcis and adjacent to a forest preserve. On the beach there is a cafe and restaurant while the woods there is a playground, places for picnics and a unique view of Chalkis. On the coast there is sand and the first steps to the sea cliffs are moving but there is only sand.
