Widely known ancient monuments are Karystia Drakospita. They are a group of twenty monumental stone structures, mostly square or rectangular. Best preserved is the dragon on top of mountain Ochi (dimensions: 12,40 x 7,63 m) north of Karystos and the band Palli - Lakka in Styria (A dragon - North: 12,40 x 6,20 m , dragon B - South: 12,40 x 6,20 m, G dragon - East: 6,15 x 6,15 m). Other Drakospita identified in the mountainous areas around the Stira as Limiko positions (dimensions: 7,65 x 6,25 m), Ilkizes (dragon A: 11,40 x 5,70 m, dragon B: 6, 20 x 5,80 m), Kourthea (dragon A: 5,95 x 5,85 m, dragon B: 4,60 x 4,60 m), amines, and lower in Nimborio (Tower Niborio: 7 , 40 x 6,50 m), and position in Lefka Vigklia Styra News and elsewhere. The building is a typical Nimborio Hellenistic tower and associated with the adjacent quarries. Two Drakospita identified in central Evia, the mountain and near Dirfi Vatontas.   Common features of Dragon House are steep and the supervisory position in which they are manufactured, the construction details of megalithic walls and the entrance and the main way of accommodating them in the pronunciation system: large heavy slate converge on two layers of opposite walls. Each layer plate protrudes slightly over the next below, so as to achieve the creation of a Gable roof. The walls are made of drakospita largely in rectangular or trapezoidal psefdoisodomo system, but others have used and rubble. Other architectural elements found in most of these buildings are monolithic jambs of the entrance and the monolithic lintel with koufistiko space above it, the stone niches and shelves that are preserved within some prominence as a wall. Finally, the dragon of Ochi rescue window openings. The dimensions of approximately drakospita ranging from 5 to 13 m   It has been many theories on the use, purpose, construction and dating of the Dragon House. We mention that especially indicative of the dragon is considered Ochi ancient temple dedicated to the worship of Zeus and Hera, watchtower, guardhouse, shelter and housing Roman quarrymen contingent that guarded the quarries and has been dated from the 6th to the 2nd-1st century BC C. Furthermore, the dragon of Ochi, and the band Palli - Lakka in Stira have seen warehouses and sanctuaries built by slaves Cares worked in stone quarries of Karystos in the Late Hellenistic and Early Roman period.   During the excavation of professor N. Moutsopoulos the dragon Ochi, among others, found numerous black-glazed cup insulators at a level below the floor of the building. The cups were detected accumulated and inverted. Some findings from the excavation of N. Moutsopoulos at the imposing Drakospito Ochi is archaic, others Roman, which shows the use of a long position.   Rich folk element to the Dragon House, hoarded by N. Politis, a local legend of the Dragon dragon that lived in the Ochi and was feared for the region.   Editor M. Chidiroglou, Archaeologist Dr. D. Miller, Archaeologist
