Archaeological Museum of Karystos
The Archaeological Museum of Karystos housed in the west wing of Giokaleiou Cultural Foundation, a bequest of philanthropist Nicholas Giokala. Built in 1959 Square Maximilian of Karystos. Archaeological Museum collection includes classrooms (1988), theaters, libraries. The local Archaeological Service organizes guided tours of the museum and the theater and the library are under the supervision of the Municipality of Karystos. The collections include: Sculptures Karystia (Classical-Hellenistic-Roman) Findings from Dragon House (Ochi, Styria) Signs Karystia Clay figurines of various regions of Karystos. The west wing of Giokaleiou Cultural Foundation granted under the terms of the covenant of Law Giokala, the Ministry of Culture in 1980 to create the Archaeological Museum. K. The Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities formed the area surrendered and opened the Museum of Karystos in 1989 showing for the first time the general public the findings of the area.
