Maybe responsibilities included the supervision of Roman quarries north of Karystos. Initial investigations (excavations in 1908) had designated the building as a temple of a deity (Apollo, Artemis and Hephaestus).   This is a peristyle, almost square, temple-like structure made of marble (white, Pentelic and faiolefko Karystos cipollino) excellent quality. Includes nave, which, like the whole mausoleum is at the south entrance, facing the harbor. A stage runs around the nave. On this would have placed the sarcophagi. The pediment of the building were decorated with a bust of the deceased along with a horse, a circular medallion (imago clipeata). Dated at andrianeia - antonineia period (mid 2nd century AD)   The Roman mausoleum was excavated in 1908 by G. Papavassiliou and 1962 (Official Gazette 64 / N / 05.28.1962) the room was expropriated in favor of the Greek government.
